Yvona

When Yvona shared her career goals after school, she started with “I have a lot of dreams”. She wants to be a missionary “in any city that’s never heard about God”, and to work in government, “to help the children in Haiti who are in the street to go to school”. She is also interested in science, because she wants to explore, and she explores the realms of knowledge through her love of reading. The book she enjoys most is Captivating, which teaches “what you should – and what you should not – do”.

You can sponsor Ivona for $35.00 a month which helps provide her meals, shelter, medical care and an education at Christian Light School in Port Au Prince, Haiti. Ivona’s 8 year old sister Carmelle also lives at the orphanage.

      Antonette,

It was great meeting you as well, Ms. Sherrie is truly a blessing to all those who cross her path. Last year I worked in the out door kitchen and Ivona was always there helping and learning with the ladies. She played soccer with us and she truly does have a strength within her she was rougher than the boys. Thank you for partnering with us as Ivona’s sponsor. I will add you to our newsletter list so you can see what is going on with Project James. Also I have posted you as Ivona’s sponsor on our website if you do not want that public knowledge, I will post it Anonymous just let me know which way you would like it done? Again thank you so much!

    Antonette,

I added your Honeybunny to the Sponsorship on the website. Thank you both so much. Writing to the children has been an issue we are trying to work on, the mail there is not dependable in the past we have delivered the letters on our trips going and coming. But as we are growing more people do want to stay in touch with their child more frequently this is an area we are addressing but have not solved yet. The kids don’t have email so that is not an option yet. What I can tell you is that if you write letters and get them to us we will get them there as fast as we can and work on return letters back to you as well. The process unfortunately like everything else in Haiti is slow.

If you will use my email of jeff@projectjames.org I will respond much faster than through the website, I have not been able to role the website email into my traditional email account and I forget to check this sites comment section everyday, sorry know I should do that. Also my phone number is 843-446-7873 much better phone communicator than email. Thank you both again and have a Merry Christmas.
